When most of the world was celebrating the arrival of the New Year, Ukrainian Armed Forces were busy setting new records.
During this period of 24 hours (from December 31 to January 1), Russia launched a large-scale attack against Ukraine. This raid included 45 Iranian-made Shahed drones. All these unmanned enemy flyers were destroyed before they could reach their targets, which means a 100% hit rate.
In addition to drones, the Russian army also launched 35 missile strikes. Ukrainian Air Force noted that they are currently observing a decreased intensity of such large missile strikes, most likely influenced by the decreased military stocks in the hands of the Russian army.
According to the expert comments, this level of performance was achieved thanks to the experience of Ukrainian soldiers who are now using mainly the anti-air equipment donated by Western allies.
In particular, the American NASAMS air defense system now accounts for most of the downed drones.
